Tasting the Impressive Wines Selected for the 2020 Nedbank Cape Winemakers Guild Auction The 2020 Nedbank CWG Auction, hosted by Bonhams London, will be held online on Saturday, October 3rd. Due to Coronavirus, there were no public tastings prior to the sale, making the limited tastings by select wine journalists crucial this year. The auction features 28 wines with a total of 564 cases (6 x 750ml) available, compared to 45 wines and 1,932 cases in 2019. Buyers can bid on smaller lots, with funds from the first case of each wine going to support Samantha O’Keefe, whose Lismore property was devastated by fire. Additionally, a 50-item Vinotheque Auction will feature select older wines donated by members to raise funds for employees affected by the Coronavirus pandemic. Only 290 bottles of this wine are produced.
