Andersen Winery Elmsfeuer Sparkling Rhubarb Wine Elmsfeuer is a semi-dry sparkling wine crafted from Danish rhubarb of the Elmsfeuer variety. The Nordic climate provides ideal conditions for Elmsfeuer rhubarb, where the contrast between cool nights and long, bright days allows for an extended ripening period. This results in a remarkable aroma and a unique acidity profile. The juice is fermented on the pulp at a low temperature, followed by a secondary fermentation in the bottle. It is aged for a minimum of 9 months before release. Elmsfeuer is best served chilled and is recommended as a distinctive and exquisite aperitif. It pairs perfectly with summer salads or dishes featuring tender vegetables, asparagus, fjord shrimp, langoustines, cured ham, tapas, and goat cheese.
