Pio Cesare Barbera d'Alba 2020
Pio Cesare's wine exemplifies how dedication and patience can craft a sophisticated culinary wine from the Barbera grape. This wine is produced using the finest Barbera grapes sourced from vineyards in Serralunga d'Alba, Sinio, Diano d'Alba, and Grinzane Cavour. The grapes are harvested by hand, and the wine undergoes temperature-controlled fermentation with 15 days of skin contact to enhance depth and tannin. Seventy percent of the wine is aged in large French oak barrels, while the remaining thirty percent matures in small 225-liter barriques for 12 months. The wine boasts a deep inky color and offers aromas of violets, red currants, blackberries, licorice, and roasted cocoa beans. Its flavor is concentrated and fruit-forward, with a notable acidity that provides precision, juiciness, and balance. This delightful Barbera wine is perfect for enjoying with pasta dishes, grilled pork, poultry, or Boeuf Bèarnaise. Serve at a temperature of 14-16 degrees Celsius. Buon appetito! Pio Cesare
